BBA Potential (Discussion)

I’m only in grade 10 but I’ve already decided that I’m going to get into a BBA porgram in an amazing school. Hopefully!

One of the things though is that I’m constantly asked what careers you can get into after getting the BBA undergrad.

I know for sure that you can get into Accounting (CA, CGA etc.) but what other career opportunities are there.

Plz. Help, try not to list the category the career (i.e, “you can get into finance”), try to give specific names.

Sorry for being so picky, but I really need to know. ASAP

The good thing about a BBA is that it can get you lots of places. Really, lots. I’ve known people who went off to do work in finance (as anything from an investment banker to a financial consultant with a CFA destination), marketing (from a salesman to working in advertising or market research), you can be a human resource administrator, an operations analyst or consultant, the possibilities are really very far and wide.

You can become an entrepreneur too, start your own business. Or you can join a company, a lot of BBA graduates will fall into low or mid level management and work their way up. The important thing is to keep an open mind- you might think that becoming a CA is a great idea now when you’re in grade 10, but when you take second year accounting you’ll discover it’s absolutely dreadful and consider aiming towards a risk management specialization instead, who knows? Good BBA programs let you take generic courses for the first few years, and concentrate on a specialization later. That’s something to think about.

BBA has a very wide scope and helps you to seek the opportunities at every step. You can go for M.Sc. of any subject which you have studied in BBA.or you can go for Banking,Investments,Retail Marketing,HR Analyst or can go into Research field also. You can also set up ur own enterprise or can do specialization in any of the field in MBA.Besides It,you can join any of the company and have work experience to get into good B-School for MBA.BBA helps you to get into various places as this grad totally deals with hvng ur core and basic concepts clear abt business.Believe me,Itz worth hvng this degree as it opens new doors at every step…

BBA aren’t perfect though, they’re only good if you enjoy business. For example, I enrolled in a BBA/BMath program thinking it should be ok and the BBA would help me later, but I really hate business, so it’s not so good. Lots of people in my program dropped the BBA part and are now only in math. So yes, a BBA can be great and lead you into many directions, but only if you enjoy business in general.

Thanks ALOT!! I understand what you mean about liking business. Personally, I love it! Making decisions to working with money, bring it ON! It’s always fascinated me how the stock market works, how business make their money and how companies like AIG can play such a major role in keeping an entire economy from falling to ashes. Speaking of the economy, whats the economy!!! It’s all business transactions to me! WHOA, Business, is where it’s AT!

Did I mention I love business?

    Just kidding, anyways thanks alot,
